Zlatibor is a small tourist resort in the municipality of Cajetina in southwestern Serbia. It consists of mountains of exceptional beauty with wavy valleys intersected by many rivers and streams. Due to its climate, it is ideal for sports-recreational and health tourism. It was named after pine trees with a bristle the color of old gold. In the past centuries it was visited by kings and today it has become a center of tourism because of the ideal place for a holiday in nature in the scents of mountain plants and evergreen forests. Various cultural events traditional for this area are organized in the settlement, such as shepherd's games, folk dances, festivals of folk musicians in their traditional costumes. Picturesque Zlatibor villages with traditional food, clean water and preserved nature make this area the largest destination for rural tourism in Serbia.
