Meljine is a village with about 1000 inhabitants located 3km east of Herceg Novi. It is connected to the city by the promenade "Pet Danica" which leads along the coast all the way to Igalo. The most important facility in Meljine is the hospital, which during the Second World War was the only military hospital and the largest health institution in Montenegro, Dubrovnik and Trebinje. Due to its ideal position and beautiful natural beauty with typical Mediterranean vegetation and a beautiful beach, a luxury villa was built in the immediate vicinity for the stay of the then President of the SFRY Josip Broz Tito. The resort is adorned with beautiful villas, modern apartments and suites which, despite their location, have reasonable prices. Tivat Airport is 22 km away.
