Šavnik, Crna Gora
Savnik is a town that stretches in the north of Montenegro with its 2000 inhabitants. It is spread on a mountain massif where the highest peak is Bobotov Kuk, rising 2522 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by the mountains Durmitor, Sinjavina, Vojnik, and Krnovo. It was named after the willow twigs (savice) that were used to cover the houses. Once, this settlement was the administrative center of the entire Durmitor area. Savnik offers magnificent landscapes, and because of the warm heart of its inhabitants, you will definitely fall in love with it. In recent years, it has been getting more and more characteristics of a tourist destination due to its natural beauty, crystal clear spring water, and the impressive Komarnica canyon, which is the biggest tourist attraction in this area. Real estate prices are very low, so they represent a real lure for nature lovers to buy a traditional country house for renovation and enjoy the silence in the fresh summer days. It has a good connection by the motorway to the central and coastal parts of Montenegro on the one side and the north on the other, which leads to the border with Serbia.
